Ownership Is a Feature
A system is easier to trust when your data, definitions and exit path remain visible.
Convenience matters, but convenience without an exit path can quietly become dependence. Self-hosting is valuable because it gives the operator a real relationship with the system instead of a temporary invitation.
SaaS Foundation is designed around exports, explicit migrations and recoverable state. Those are not secondary technical details. They are part of the product promise.
The mission is simple: make ownership practical enough that ordinary operators can benefit from it.
